President’s Report: See attached
Bruce announced the passing of Paul Williams from our bowling community. Paul was a huge bowling enthusiast and a friend to all who knew him. He had coached FAMU women’s collegiate bowling team. He bowled in the Rattlers, Champion Chevrolet and was current President of Twilight League. A moment of silence was observed in his memory. A card was sent around to sign to send to family.
VP Report Dan Gatlin has packet in for Susan G. Komen tournament purchases for resale fundraising. Need to set date to host tournament. After discussion, decided February 21 and 22 dates would be best, providing lanes available.

Committee Work Discussion
Audit Committee – Should schedule audit in January.
By Laws and Policy Procedure Committee – Committee wasn’t able to meet due to Dan Gatlin having back surgery, will try to schedule to meet soon.
Youth Committee – New girl from Georgia area signed up. She has been bowling for 6 years. She was placed in Jr. Majors.
Website Committee – Traci Cirioni still hasn’t heard back for Verdigre on issues. Traci went over to flea market to meet with someone Mary Adkison suggested meeting with. The gentlemen provided examples of websites he helped in designing. He said we needed to find out who our URL provider, host etc., are. He didn’t believe he could help us with the awards online himself, but could find someone who would be able to do that part of our issue.
Hall of Fame Committee – Ed Palagyi is committee chair, be thinking of anyone to be nominated.
Lane Inspection Committee- Capital Lanes passed it’s re-inspection and is fully certified. Seminole Bowl has completed a re-inspection, but still items that need correction. Crenshaw is scheduled for follow up re-inspection on December 19.
Tournament Committee – Holiday Classic had a today 46 entries. Paid out 8 places for handicap. winners from 1st place to 8th place – Derrick Haynes, Joey Kendrick, Dale Capps, Scott Tharpe, Tommy Pugh, Kevin Brookshire, Eugene Parrish, Darius Lamar. 52nd Annual City Tournament – Suggested setting dates for March 21, 22 and March 28,29.
Old Business
Laptop selection/purchase – Traci Cirioni went online to Dell website found prices ranging from $599.00 - $899.00. Maybe local dealers would offer better deals. We would need to have Microsoft Office to be able to run Excel program, Microsoft Word etc. We have already approved purchase of laptop last year, but when specific one found we will present information.
New Business
Jake Whitfield from Lane 7 – new center opening up in the North Hampton Shopping Center on Kerry Forrest Parkway attended this meeting to update and inform of new center. NE land deals made it difficult to get this opportunity underway. Center should be having Grand Opening in mid February. He suggested if anyone wanted to do a walk-through of facility, he and General Manager Adam Kleinhenz will be available today, Sunday, Dec. 14, at 4:30. The Trifecta Group is involved in this operation setup. The center will have a 150 seat restaurant, 22 lanes – 18 regular lanes and 4 VIP lanes. It is a 40,000 sq. ft. facility of which 75 games – game room, 9,000 sq. ft. is VIP area with 3 lounges with couches it will have a board room with a 65 inch plasma TV. The lanes will be offered full dinner, with waiter and waitresses. It will have all brand new Brunswick equipment. It is being geared as an all age environment. No pro shop at this time. Don’t have prices yet for league or open bowling yet. It will still be about 4-6 months out for interested leagues to be considered. Next school year they would like to get involved more with the high school bowling. They would like to promote bowling events as fundraisers, like golf events being used now. They would like to host lock-ins for kids to have fun with center activities. They are willing to consider all needs of Tallahassee bowlers to try to accommodate what will be best from their business aspect and the bowlers. We will be contacted by Brunswick when they are ready to have certification done. Their website is Lane7bowl.com
Mr. James Peppers, a board member since May 2007 has resigned because of work conflicts. Bruce Meyers would look to appoint a person soon for his remaining term of office.
Bruce was approached regarding contribution being made to Paul Williams’ daughter’s scholarship being set up for contributions in his memory. Dan Gatlin could make suggestion but would prefer board members input. No set amounts are in policies, usually will be based on individual’s contribution and service to our bowling association. Motion from the floor made to donate $200.00, motioned seconded and approved.
Tallahassee USBC CD future efforts. Current CD held at Capital City Bank, will mature December 20th. Capital City Bank estimated new rate would be 2.25%, Bank of America 2.37%, Farmers and Merchants 3.05%. Sunshine Savings Bank suggested. Traci Cirioni will check out those rates. Motion made for current CD to be renewed and purchase additional CD of $4,000.00 to have 2 CD’s @ $4,000.00 at whatever bank offering best rates. Motion seconded and approved.
