There are problems with Nettally users being able to contact website and or our email. I found out Friday afternoon that is a Nettally issue, so I will contact Nettally on Monday to try to get resolved. I also have a meeting with Verdigre on Monday to try to correct issues. If we can’t get issues resolved we may have to address other options to get site up our goals. If anyone else would like to help with website let me know, Sylvia Livingston has expressed in helping.
Committee Work Discussion
Youth Committee – John Govans and Parks and Recreation community centers will be celebrating National Bowling Week, August 28, 2008 at 3:30 -5:30at Crenshaw Lanes. Any members who would like to come out to help are welcomed to help out with sport of bowling and techniques. FSU bowling team will be there already. Kids will be brought in from community centers with vans from community centers because of liability.
New Business
Mike Powers Memorial Donation:
There was a $200.00 contribution made to Mike Powers family to help with funeral expenses for Mike. He was the head mechanic at Seminole Bowl. There was a motion for formalize the donation and a 2nd. Discussion regarding the protesting heard by board members from a few bowlers – not a quorum to approve at time of giving, Mike Powers was not a bowler, he was an employee of Seminole Bowl, meeting should have been called, and handling was unwise but not illegal.
Suggestion that we should have had a ball raffle to cover the donation.
There was a quorum present a time of donation at memorial. There was discussion prior to donation. He was a bowler.
Other discussion that it was a good idea, but the handling of it should have been done formally.
Call to question made, one declined from voting, one abstained and 9 in favor.
Bowler’s Roundtable
Kris Bice issue regarding Tallahassee Business League being deleted from house for winter season. He inquired last two weeks before bowling last season about next year. He was told he would be contacted by postcard. This was first hearing of issue by association. It was suggested he contact house again that he had 10 teams last year. If can’t get resolved and if they want to continue issue try to set up a meeting and Bruce would try to attend. Other leagues did not receive any information either.
